Description

WPCore stores lists of plugins called collections. You create collections at wpcore.com. Each collection has a key. Add the key to this plugin, and the plugin installs and activates the plugins in that collection.

Collections can contain plugins from the WordPress.org directory and custom plugins uploaded to wpcore.com as ZIP files.

WP-CLI

wp wpcore install <key> installs the plugins in a collection from the command line. `wp wpcore list <key>` lists the plugins in a collection and their status on the site.

Source code

The plugin includes the uncompressed source of the admin screen JavaScript and styles in assets/src/. build/ holds the compiled files.

External service

This plugin connects to the WPCore API at https://wpcore.com/api/ to read the collections whose keys you add. The request contains the collection keys and the plugin version. No other site data is sent. The WPCore terms and privacy policy apply.

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New and search for “WPCore”.
  2. Install and activate WPCore Plugin Manager.

It just really works! I have my groups of plugins I Always Use & Sometimes Use. Works every time for me and saves me time! Thanks Stuart!

Great plugin and still supported

Love this plugin – and when there was a recent bug the author was quick to fix it. Makes bulk installation of plugins easy as pie.

Clever idea! Great for quickly installing plugins

Love this plugin! I only use the free version and secretly wish it allowed up to 5 lists. But either way…thanks for making this!

Also wish it could install themes as well.

Convinient

Not updated in 2 years

It is always a pity when a once great product is left to fade away. It still works, but it is never wise to install a plugin that is so out-of-date. I wish I could find an alternative.

Plugin works okay, has one error, website is buggy

By Tyler Tork (TylerTork) on February 3, 2021

This plugin works by configuring the list of plugins on the developer’s website, which then provides a code you can enter in the plugin’s screen on your own website to retrieve the list. It is based on the tgmpa library, which contains a bug that causes an error message during some plugin installs, but the install still works so that’s just an irritant. The main problem is it’s difficult to configure the list of plugins on the developer’s website. The search function works very poorly, and the list of plugins is displayed in a space-wasting, unsorted way, making it hard to determine whether you have added all the plugins you need. There also doesn’t seem to be a distinction between plugins that should just be installed, versus installed and activated. Rather than a key to reference information on their website, it would actually be more convenient to have a field to paste in a list of the desired plugins. This is a bit too elaborate.

Wonderful!

Great utility, works fine with thanks!

incompatible w/ too many themes

By nadworks on May 28, 2020

A great idea, but sadly increasingly incompatible with too many themes. Most of my regular premium themes throw up 404 errors as soon as I hit “install plugins” from within WP Core. According to the plugin’s support, there’s “unfortunately nothing that can be done”. Too bad.

Very useful plugin

I’m surprised I never heard of this plugin before. It’s so useful, and it’s going to safe me time in setting up new sites. Thanks for keeping this plugin updated.
