Manage, monitor, and protect all your WordPress sites in one place
Connect your WordPress sites to Modular DS, access them with one-click login, and manage updates, backups, security scans, uptime monitoring, and more in a single dashboard.
Stay organized with tags and teams, and assign custom roles and permissions to collaborators.
Bulk management and updates
Install, update, activate, or delete plugins, themes, and WordPress versions across multiple websites at once (or one by one).
The global updater also gives you a full picture of what’s happening across your sites: detected vulnerabilities, Update Copilot risk scores, warnings for abandoned plugins, and more, all from one place.
Smarter, automated updates
Choose how your updates run: as quick standard updates, as safe updates with before and after screenshots and instant rollbacks, or as smart automated updates that let you define when and under what conditions they should run.
Pair it with Update Copilot, our AI-powered scoring system, to understand how risky a plugin update might be before applying it and make more informed decisions.
You can also schedule one-time updates for a specific date and time, or simply hide updates you are not ready to apply.
Whatever approach you prefer, Modular DS gives you more control and flexibility to safely keep your sites up to date.
Backups and one-click restoration
Schedule GDPR-compliant backups to safeguard your clients’ sites and data, or create one manually whenever you need.
Choose between full or incremental backups and easily restore entire sites, files, or databases from Modular DS.
Uptime monitoring
Never get caught off guard by downtime. Get notified by email, WhatsApp, Slack, or Discord when any of your websites go down, before your clients even notice.
Customize check frequency, response time, keyword detection, and alert settings to fit your workflow. Modular DS includes one of the most complete uptime monitor tools for WordPress.
Security monitoring and management
Modular DS includes vulnerability scans for plugins, themes, and WordPress core, with alerts up to 48 hours before issues are publicly disclosed.
You also have malware scanning to check your sites’ files and database for malicious content, and admin user alerts to know whenever someone is added or removed as an administrator on any of your connected sites.
On top of that, you get notified whenever something else requires your attention, from outdated PHP to expired SSL certificates.
For teams that need more, our add-ons extend these capabilities. See the integrations section below for details.
Broken link checker
Run scheduled or on-demand scans to detect broken links and images across your sites. When broken internal links are found, create redirects to fix them without leaving Modular DS.
Site migration, cloning, and staging
Modular DS lets you migrate or clone any connected site in three ways: move it to another existing site in the platform, migrate it to a different server while keeping the same domain, or clone it to a new domain.
You can also create staging environments on your own server to test changes before going live.
Database optimization
Clean up post revisions, spam comments, transients, orphaned tables, and more directly from Modular DS. No need for extra plugins.
Keep your websites running smoothly while saving time and having a clear record of every optimization made.
Client reports
From winning new clients to keeping existing ones, Modular DS covers both ends of the reporting workflow.
Before a client signs up, you can generate a pre-maintenance report to show everything their site needs: pending updates, detected vulnerabilities, site health issues, database optimizations, etc.
Once they are on board, automatically generate and send regular maintenance reports that highlight the work you do behind each site.
Add time logs, dates, and screenshots to showcase the full scope of your efforts, so clients understand the value of your service and keep paying for it.
Both report types help you build trust, improve client retention, and turn your WordPress maintenance offering into recurring revenue.
Integrations
Modular DS integrates with Google Analytics, Search Console, WooCommerce, and PageSpeed, giving you an overview of your sites in one place and allowing you to include the data your clients care most about in your reports.
To further strengthen your sites’ security, two add-ons extend what is included in every plan:
* Patch & Protect, powered by Patchstack, blocks common attack methods and vulnerabilities through virtual patching and hardening rules, even before an official fix is available.
* A malware add-on powered by Imunify Connect, which lets you run on-demand scans across your sites to detect malicious content.
Modular DS MCP server: Manage your sites with AI
Connect Modular DS to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any other AI assistant, and do almost everything you’d normally do from your Modular DS dashboard, straight from a conversation.
With our MCP server, you can:
- Check on your client sites with a single prompt.
- Run your WordPress maintenance workflow in a natural-language conversation (updates, backups, security scans, and so on).
- Easily understand what needs attention or spot opportunities for improvement.

Modular DS covers the same core features as these platforms (bulk updates, backups, uptime monitoring, security) and adds a few things that set it apart:
- Smart update automation + Update Copilot: most tools in this space (ManageWP, MainWP, WP Umbrella, InfiniteWP, WP Remote) just let you schedule updates for a set date and time. Modular DS gives you AI-powered risk insights before applying updates and lets you automate them with smart conditional rules for more granular control. For example, you can set a safe update to run immediately when a vulnerability is detected, or hold it back when the Update Copilot risk score is high.
- Reports that help you sell and retain clients: few platforms build reporting specifically around winning new maintenance clients. Modular DS does, with features like pre-maintenance reports.
- Support and usability: we’ve placed strong emphasis on building a seamless user experience so you can manage all your sites in the simplest, most intuitive way possible. Modular DS also stands out for its friendly and responsive support, delivered by a dedicated team that’s always there when you need them, something our users love and consistently highlight in their reviews.
- Active development: the platform is continuously evolving, with frequent updates, improvements, and new features based on user feedback released regularly.
- Fully hosted: unlike self-hosted options such as MainWP or InfiniteWP, Modular DS requires no server of your own, no complex setup, and no extra plugins to install.
- Everything in one fixed-price plan: instead of per-site pricing like WP Umbrella, or paid add-ons for core features like ManageWP, both of which can get unpredictable and expensive as your site portfolio grows, Modular DS bundles everything into fixed-price subscriptions with flexible overage for when you exceed your base limits of sites, users, or storage.
Modular DS includes a complete backup system to keep your WordPress sites safe and recoverable at all times:
- Create automatic or on-demand backups whenever you need them.
- Choose between full or incremental backups depending on how much data you want to save.
- Full or partial restoration: Easily restore entire sites or specific parts, such as files or the database, directly from Modular DS.
Backups are GDPR-compliant and securely hosted on cloud servers. Retention ranges from 60 to 90 days, depending on your Modular DS plan.
Modular DS offers a 14-day free trial and subscription plans for different business sizes.
Every plan includes core features at a fixed price, with monthly or annual billing options, and flexible overage, which means you can exceed your base limits and pay for the additional usage monthly.
For more details, visit our pricing page.
No, Modular DS works independently of your hosting provider. You can connect and manage websites hosted anywhere.
Yes, it is. Modular DS uses the OAuth2 protocol to securely authenticate the connection between your website and our servers. This protocol generates tokens that expire and can be revoked at any time.
We never store your WordPress user passwords, ensuring your login credentials remain private and under your control.
The Modular Connector plugin links your WordPress installation with Modular DS, enabling secure communication between both systems. It allows actions like plugin updates, backup scheduling, and other maintenance tasks to be triggered from the Modular DS dashboard.
Yes, Modular DS has an MCP server that connects your account to any MCP-compatible AI agent, so you can check on and manage your WordPress sites in natural language, from the same conversation you already work in. Learn more about our MCP on this page.
Yes. Our public API lets you build your own integrations and automations on top of Modular DS.
Yes, we do. If you’re coming from another WordPress management tool, we’ll help you migrate your sites securely at no extra cost.
Just contact us by email or through our support chat, and we’ll handle everything for you.
Absolutely, especially when working with WordPress. Maintenance involves many tasks that ensure a website remains secure, stable, and performs well over time.
From backups and uptime monitoring to vulnerability and plugin management, keeping everything under control prevents small issues from turning into bigger problems (and frustrated clients).
Modular DS helps you streamline your daily workflow and run a professional, scalable, and profitable maintenance service with confidence.
Pre-maintenance reports let you generate a report for any site showing everything it needs: pending updates, detected vulnerabilities, security and health issues, database optimizations, PageSpeed score, and any additional tasks you want to include.
They are designed to help you present the value of your maintenance service to potential clients.
Please report security bugs found in the source code of the Modular DS plugin through the Patchstack Vulnerability Disclosure Program. The Patchstack team will assist you with verification, CVE assignment, and notify the developers of this plugin.

Un cambio a mejor después de tantos años con ManageWP
By José Antonio Martín Díaz (joseamd) on September 7, 2026
This platform gets better every day.

A solid control panel for WordPress
By Fabrizio (fabriziowp78) on August 26, 2026
It’s not more than 1 year that i’m suing modular consistently on a daily basis.
It helped me as a freelancer to efficiently manage more sites from a SAAS based tool. I tended to use self-hosted panels, but recently i decided to quit with them as there were a lot of security related to wp and having sites connected could lead to a chain attack that i want to avoid.
Modular is well planned, the UI and UX is clean and the support prompt and always helped with i reported issues (smalll), plus they were able to fix them in a very short timeframe and none of the reported ones were critical.
The pricing is also affordable and scalable, so it can only recommend it, plus it’s EU based which is a big plus for me, being based in ITALY.
Well done modular, i hope you keep nailing it!
Herramienta imprescindible

A useful tool for keeping your sites up to date, backed up, and secure
By valyant on August 18, 2026
Modular DS is a fantastic all‑in‑one maintenance tool that keeps my sites updated, backed up, and monitored. It’s reliable, easy to use, and the team behind it ships new features incredibly fast. You can tell they genuinely care about improving the product. If you manage many websites, ModularDS will automate that for you so you can focus on more important things. And did I mention it keeps getting better?
The site management tool I didn't know I needed
By pknickle on August 12, 2026
I manage multiple WordPress sites for clients and Modular DS has become essential to my workflow. I can’t believe I just got it on a whim! Having one central hub to monitor all my sites is a game-changer, no more logging into each dashboard individually just to check on things.
The safe update feature for themes and plugins gives me so much peace of mind. Updates used to be a source of low-grade anxiety (will this break something?) and now I can roll them out confidently knowing there’s a safety net.
What really sets Modular DS apart is that the team keeps shipping meaningful new features for existing users, not just for higher tier members. You can tell they actually care about improving the product for the people already using it. They recently added broken link reports and I’m excited to try that.
The white labelling is the cherry on top. My clients see my branding, not a third-party tool, which keeps everything feeling professional and cohesive.
Highly recommend for any freelancer or agency managing multiple WordPress sites!
Herramienta TOP para mantenimientos
By antonioropero on August 12, 2026
Excellent and getting better every day
By ailima on August 12, 2026
Modular DS has made monitoring and updating my sites so easy. I can even access my account from my phone, click a few buttons and it’ll give me an uptime report, scan malware, initiate backups and more. Updating plugins is easy on the desktop chrome, and doable on mobile if you choose desktop layout. That’s a rare need though unless there’s a security patch that needs to go through straight away.
The interface is easier to understand than many other management sites.
5 stars – I’m very happy I went with Modular!

- Improved malware scan results and progress: file counts now come from Imunify’s own summary, files that could not be analysed are reported as unknown instead of clean, and progress no longer stalls near 30% on mostly clean sites
- Improved malware scan memory usage on slow hosts, sharing the file enumeration with the backup system
- Improved storage layout: logs, cache and the backup and scan working files are now kept together under modular_storage, in folders named per site, with automatic cleanup of the old locations

- Improved malware scan: findings now include the detected signature and threat type, and the files requested by the scanner are uploaded in batches
